The HSO can perform in the following configurations:
Standard configuration - this is how we appear most often:
9-12 members: drums, bass, guitar, piano, trumpet, trombone, 2 saxophones,
and 1-4 singers.
Larger horn section - some call this the smallest real big band or 10 piece:
same as above but with an extra trumpet and saxophone, creating a true big band sound.
Full Big Band - this is the classic instrumentation of the big band era:
4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 5 saxophones, and full rhythm section, with 1-4 singers!
Smaller combos - we also do many engagements with smaller groups in different configurations: trio, quartet, quintet or sextet with or without added singers
